TRAVEL

Travelling to Brindley's Mill

Brindley's Mill is on the A523 Leek to Macclesfield road about half a mile from Leek town centre marketplace.

Parking is possible in Abbey Green Road, close to the mill.

Set your Sat-Nav to ST13 8FA.

Also, the nearby Sainsbury's store currently gives Mill visitors an opportunity to park, as well as get refreshments, and of course do a bit of shopping! Please be aware that Sainsbury's car park has a 3-hour parking limit in place. You'll find the store on Churnet Way, off the Macclesfield Road, and just a few hundred steps from the mill.

  • Is the Mill & Museum fully accessible?
The Mill was built in the seventeenth century with all the access you would expect for a building of that age. The Mill has three floors and these are accessed by steep steps to each level. Care needs to be taken.
  • Are there toilet facilities at the Mill?
There are no toilet facilities at the mill. Sainsbury’s supermarket is only a few hundred yards away and has toilets when open. There is a new MacDonalds which has toilets available for patrons. There is a public house next door to the Mill which also has toilets available to patrons when open.
  • Is there car parking?
There is no parking directly available at the Mill or directly outside. There is free parking available only a few yards away from the Mill in Abbey Road and also at Sainsbury’s supermarket as well as other on street parking.
  • Is there a gift shop?
The Mill has some material and small gifts available for purchase.
  • Do you offer private tours?
Private tours are available by prior appointment outside the planned opening hours. The Mill encourages visits by schools and other groups again by prior appointment outside the planned opening hours. The Mill would not normally undertake group tours during planned opening times.
